UV varnish used on misconceptions

UV coating process of the print, the actual application of UV varnish more widely. It can take different ways to deal with UV curing surface, like paper, plastic, metal, glass, leather, cloth, wood and ceramics. The character is curing fast, and solvent- free, after drying the surface appear smooth, abrasion and refundable luster. Better UV Varnish generally has the property of translucent liquid and non-volatile matter of more than contains 95%±1%. Actually, UV Varnish must be heated to use during the coating process. UV Varnish viscosity is too high if without heating, UV coating unevenness or difficulty. In the right way is: UV Varnish coating should be heated to 45±5℃ in the sump. In the cold season, should be heated to 50℃. Besides, Using UV Varnish is not allowed to put into the thinner otherwise the printer gloss which can’t reach the effect after coating. More thinner, more severe loss of gloss and reduce the abrasion.

    There are currently a part of printing industry have an incorrect point that they think put the thinner into UV Varnish will reduce the cost during the coating process, even some customers add 30%~50% thinner. Don’t they think that the alcohol solvent would be remained on the paper surface? Where is the alcohol solvent? Will it reduce the cost? Would it satisfy the client’s quality demand?

If we use UV Varnish on 1 ton per month, and add 50% alcohol, it spends 0.5*700*12= USD4200 without freight, store and labor costs. The alcohol is volatile during drying process, it means USD 4200 has gone. Economic loss aside, it damages the health of employee and reduces UV coating quality.
